The Administrative Services section contains 6 departments: Patient Relations, Budget, Management Information Systems, Environmental Services, Plant Operations and
Maintenance, and Administrative Support. Through these departments, Administrative Services provides services that support management's efforts to develop to the fullest the capabilities of the persons served by the Center.
PATIENT RELATIONS DEPARTMENT: The Patient Relations Department is responsible for establishing procedures to recover the cost of individual care for the institution using federal, state, local and insurance company regulations. It also processes and tracks
the purchases from the Personal Fund Accounts of each individual.
BUDGET DEPARTMENT: The Budget Department maintains Caswell's budget with funds management, cost reporting and providing management the necessary information and reports to manage their budgets. Additionally, the department
provides cashier services, trust fund management, and invoice processing. Through the Purchasing and Warehouse Sections, the department purchases, receives, and warehouses all equipment, supplies, and other related materials
and services for the Center. Through the Central Timekeeping Section, the department posts timesheets into the automated timekeeping system,verifies time and authorized leave credits, and provides the necessary information and
reports to employees, supervisors, human resources, payroll, and auditors.
MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SYSTEMS (MIS): Management Information Systems has the responsibility for evaluating, proposing and implementing Information Technology needs at Caswell Center. The department provides technical support to
all computer users as well as consultative support to management. Management Information Systems is also responsible for the administration and management of the Local Area Network and its components.
ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES DEPARTMENT: Environmental Services is primarily responsible for providing appropriate personal appearance items for our
individuals and a safe, clean, sanitary, and attractive living area. This is accomplished through a Sanitation Section, Laundry Distribution Center, Sewing Room, Barber/Beauty Shop, Clothing Store, Furniture
Repair/Refinishing/Upholstery Shop, Solid/Medical Waste Removal Crew, Moving Crew, and a Pest Control Specialist.
PLANT OPERATIONS AND MAINTENANCE DEPARTMENT: The Plant Operations and Maintenance Department maintains the physical and structural environment and related equipment to provide comfortable living, working, and
training facilities for our individuals and staff. Heating and cooling of all campus buildings is provided primarily through central steam and chiller systems. Routine preventative and corrective maintenance and renovation is
provided through Electrical, Heating and Air Conditioning, Plumbing, Structural Maintenance, Grounds, Vehicle Maintenance and the Power Plant sections. The department also provides construction and design management of all
capital projects. Plant maintenance personnel are available 24 hours a day to respond to emergencies.
ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT DEPARTMENT: Administrative Support is responsible for ordering and stocking all administrative supplies for the Center, and the operation of the mail room, communications system management, reprographics and
the 24-hour a day switchboard.
